About Our Center

Who we treat: Welcome to Stabilization and Assessment at New Haven, where we primarily focus on supporting adolescent females ages 12-17 who are experiencing crises. Whether transitioning from hospital care or facing acute distress at home, our center offers a safe haven for those in need of security, stability, and expert assessment. Many of our clients grapple with challenges such as depression, identity issues, self-harm, or other mental illnesses, hindering their ability to realize their full potential in daily life. Our tailored treatment program aims to stabilize individuals and provide insight into their mental health struggles, determining the level of care needed for their journey ahead. Programming at stabilization and assessment: Our experienced and dedicated staff includes residential aides, nurses, licensed therapists, and a clinical psychologist, all of whom are seeking to create a nurturing atmosphere where healing can take place. We use the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) as well as evidence-based therapies to create a safe space for the adolescent brain and body to heal as well as access a calm and grounded state. This auditory intervention aims to enhance the regulation of the autonomic nervous system, promoting emotional self-regulation. A primary pillar of our program is to provide a comprehensive psychological assessment that is conducted by a licensed clinical psychologist. This evaluation is included in the program and ensures a tailored treatment plan that promotes long-term healing, understanding, and growth. The individualized assessment will answer specific questions regarding each student’s treatment including IQ, academic achievement, executive functioning, learning disorders, and developmental disorders. Every family will be provided with a comprehensive report outlining the student’s history, testing results, interpretation, diagnosis, and recommendations.
