My Approach to Therapy

I am licensed mental health therapist specializing in trauma therapy and anxiety therapy, providing online therapy to clients in Vermont and Colorado. You look like you have it together, but something feels heavier than it should. Whether relationships feel chaotic, boundaries are hard to maintain, or past hurts linger, we can create a space to make sense of it. I work primarily with 20- to 30-year-olds wrestling with trauma, loud thoughts, attachment challenges, and emotional regulation. I provide a warm, grounded, and energetic space where you can feel seen, heard, and understood, without pressure to have it all figured out. Together, we will reduce anxiety, heal past hurts, learn healthy attachment bonds, and quiet ruminating thoughts to create inner peace and awareness. I look at the systems around you that shape who you are. Most clients notice meaningful improvement within the first month, gaining clarity, calmer emotions, and stronger connections while learning practical skills to navigate life with more confidence and balance. I use dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) for emotional balance, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for practical problem-solving, and internal family systems (IFS) to explore your inner parts. Sessions are reflective, engaging, and personal. You can move at a rhythm that feels natural, dive into what matters most to you, and follow a process guided by curiosity and self-reflection. I offer individual sessions only. I accept self-pay, which allows for flexible scheduling, more privacy, and full focus on your care. Out-of-network billing is available for insurance reimbursement, giving you the freedom to choose what works best for your therapy journey. I have over 10 years of experience in the mental health field across a variety of settings. I am licensed in Vermont and Colorado. I rely on evidence-based practices and provide Telehealth, ensuring high-quality and exceptional care for every client.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

Choosing a therapist is a really personal decision, and it's okay to take your time finding someone who feels like the right fit for you. One of the most important factors is feeling safe, comfortable, and genuinely understood. Research shows that the connection you have with your therapist often called the therapeutic relationship - is one of the biggest predictors of progress and success in therapy. It can also be helpful to look for a therapist who specializes in what you're going through. For example, if you're dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, or relationship challenges, finding someone experienced in those areas can make a meaningful difference. Many people search for terms like anxiety therapy, trauma-informed therapist, help with overthinking, or therapy for burnout and stress, and those are great starting points when exploring your options. You might also consider practical things like scheduling, availability, online vs. in-person sessions, and whether their approach feels aligned with what you?re looking for. Some therapists are more structured and skills-based, while others are more conversational and insight-focused neither is better, it just depends on what feels supportive to you. And here's something not everyone talks about you're allowed to ask questions before committing. It's okay to reach out, get a feel for their style, and try a session or two before deciding. Therapy isn't about finding a perfect therapist- it's about finding someone who feels like a good fit for you. At the end of the day, the right therapist should help you feel supported, respected, and a little more at ease being yourself. That's where real change begins.

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

It's completely okay to feel unsure about therapy so many people do. It's something new, and stepping into anything unfamiliar can bring up a lot of mixed feelings. You don't have to have it all figured out, and you don't have to be in a certain place in life to be ready. I like to think of therapy as a gentle space that's just for you. A place where you can show up exactly as you are- no pressure, no expectations, no need to have the right words. Whether you have a lot on your mind or you're just feeling a little off, both are welcome here. We go at your pace. Some days might be about talking things through, other days might be about sitting with what you're feeling, and that's okay too. There's no rush and no judgment-just a steady, supportive space where you can breathe, reflect, and feel a little more like yourself again. Starting can feel like a big step, but it doesn't have to be a heavy one. It can simply be a small, kind choice you make for yourself. And you don't have to do it alone.

Groups I Work With

I work with adults and young adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, stress, and major life transitions. Many of my clients are high-functioning individuals who appear put together on the outside but struggle internally with overthinking, burnout, self-doubt, and emotional overwhelm. I provide support for anxiety disorders, panic attacks, chronic stress, and depression, helping clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and patterns. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing perfectionism, people-pleasing, low self-esteem, and difficulty setting boundaries. I also support those who feel stuck, disconnected, or caught in cycles of negative thinking and want to build confidence, clarity, and a stronger sense of self. My work is also trauma-informed, supporting clients who are healing from past experiences, attachment wounds, and relationship challenges. I help individuals navigate relationship issues, improve communication, and develop healthier, more secure connections with themselves and others. I frequently work with young professionals and adults facing career stress, life transitions, and identity shifts, as well as those seeking stress management tools, emotional regulation skills, and long-term personal growth. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, burnout, relationship struggles, or simply feeling overwhelmed, therapy offers a space to slow down, gain insight, and create meaningful, lasting change.
