What's My Approach to Therapy?
I'm a faith-integrative therapist who believes in the importance of considering how soul, body, and spirit all work together in mental well-being and struggles. As a practicing Christian therapist, I specialize in combining the tried and true of good therapy, with dynamic and practical spiritual support. Christian or not, though, I prioritize offering those who come to me a genuine relationship, shaped by integrity, safety, compassion, hope, and a bit of humor as we navigate the inevitable difficulties of life.
My clinical journey started in the cell walls of a local county jailed and wove through faith-based group practices and organizations, and now has arrived at a blossoming private practice. People often seek my help for:
:: unhealed trauma wounds
:: life transitions that have left them disoriented and disheartened
:: grief from hardships
:: trouble in relationships
:: gaining insights into themselves
:: getting over a life "bump"
:: and struggles with faith or calling.
Like a guide on a journey, I come alongside you to make the difficult feel less difficult, the alone feel less lonely, and for you to believe that your life - pain and all - has meaning and purpose. I offer unpressured, compassionate space to face what is broken and hurting, what may even feel unmentionable - and support you in movements toward resiliency, healing, and new ways of being and seeing.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
Research shows one of the most powerful factors that lead to good health and longevity is positive relationships, and that's what makes psychotherapy unique. This is a special relationship designed for you to express and explore your concerns in a trusted space with a trusted person, with the anchors of professional education and experience to guide the process. Compared to solely reading self-help books, taking medication, or engaging activities that help one feel good (though, all of those things can prove to be very beneficial for mental health), a counseling relationship can be a transformative experience, leading to deepened insights about yourself, enhanced ways of being, and improved connections with those you love.
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Opening up to a counselor can feel vulnerable. I've been there. My desire and commitment is to foster an environment that invites the complexities of life, vulnerability and honesty, curiosity and care, safety and warmth, and some humor to help us along the way. Healing and growth are more life journeys than destinations. You don't have to journey alone.
