What's My Approach to Therapy?

Life hasn’t gone the way you thought it would. Maybe you’re grieving someone or something important, navigating chronic illness, or facing a major life change that’s left you questioning who you are. You might look “fine” on the outside, but you feel lost, disconnected, or just tired of holding it all together. Deep down, you want to feel at peace - to rediscover your sense of purpose, rebuild your confidence, find your new normal, and reconnect with the part of yourself you’ve had to leave behind.

I offer a calm, supportive space to process what you’re going through - without judgment or pressure. Using a trauma-informed, person-centered approach, I help clients explore self-compassion, resilience, and growth. Together, we’ll uncover what healing looks like for you and take it one day at a time.

You don’t have to face this alone. Healing doesn’t mean pretending everything’s okay - it’s about honoring your story and finding new ways forward. We might laugh, maybe even curse a little, but we’ll always keep it real. If you’re ready to begin again, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

My Practice & Services

I offer virtual therapy for adults across Texas. My therapy approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in compassion and authenticity. I want my clients to feel safe, validated, and understood — to find relief, hope and confidence as they work through life’s challenges.

I’ve been in the mental health field for over a decade, supporting individuals through life’s most difficult moments. My work focuses on helping adults navigate chronic illness, life transitions, and grief, as well as related experiences like anxiety, depression, and self-esteem struggles. My goal is to help you reconnect with yourself, find your footing again, and move toward a life that feels meaningful and peaceful.

My work is guided by compassion, curiosity, and authenticity. I believe healing happens when we feel safe enough to explore both the pain and the possibility within us. Therapy with me is conversational, honest, and often includes laughter — because healing doesn’t always have to feel heavy. We’ll move at your pace, focusing on what matters most to you, and gently uncovering your strengths along the way. I want my clients to walk away feeling validated, hopeful, and confident in their ability to face whatever life brings.

My Therapy Focus

Chronic Illness:
Living with a chronic illness can impact every part of your life - your identity, your relationships, your energy, and your sense of control. Together, we?ll make space for the frustration, fear, and grief that can come with ongoing health challenges. We?ll explore ways to honor your body?s limits while still creating a fulfilling, meaningful life that feels like yours again.

Life Transitions:
Change, even when it?s ?supposed? to be positive, can feel unsettling. Whether you?re adjusting to a move, a career shift, becoming a caregiver, or adjusting to a new phase of life, I?ll help you slow down, reflect, and find your new normal. Our work will focus on clarity, self-compassion, and building resilience as you move through uncertainty and rediscover your footing.

Grief:
Grief isn?t something to ?get over.? It?s a process of learning how to carry what?s been lost and find moments of peace amongst the pain. Whether you?re mourning a loved one, a part of yourself, or a life that didn?t go as planned, we?ll navigate that process together - with gentleness, honesty, and the space to just be where you are.

Suicidal Thoughts:
If you?ve ever felt like giving up or that things will never get better, you?re not alone ? and you don?t have to go through it alone. I offer a non-judgmental space to talk openly about these thoughts, identify what keeps you going, and find ways to reduce pain and increase safety. Healing begins with honesty, and it?s okay to start wherever you are.

Psychosis:
If you are living with psychosis, it can feel confusing, isolating, or overwhelming. Together, we?ll work to understand your experiences, identify triggers, and develop grounding and coping strategies that help you feel more in control of your life. My approach emphasizes empathy, collaboration, and restoring confidence ? helping you find meaning, safety, and connection while honoring your lived experience.

My Guiding Ethical Principles

Authenticity: Healing happens when we can show up as our full selves. I bring honesty and realness into therapy, creating space for you to be seen and supported ? without pressure to be anyone else.

Compassion: You deserve kindness, understanding, and patience ? especially on the hard days. I approach each session with empathy and care, meeting you exactly where you are in your journey.

Inclusion: Everyone deserves a space where they feel safe and respected. I welcome individuals of all identities, backgrounds, and life experiences, and I strive to make therapy a truly affirming space.

Resilience: Growth doesn?t mean never struggling ? it means finding strength in the process. Just as a daylily's beauty is renewed each day, I believe in your ability to heal, rebuild, and begin again.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

I?ve always had a desire to help people through difficult times. Over the years, I?ve also navigated my own chronic illness, cared for sick parents, and experienced significant life transitions and loss. These experiences shaped the way I show up in therapy ? with empathy, patience, and a real understanding of how messy life can be.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

Frequency: Most clients start with weekly sessions to build consistency and momentum. As progress is made, we can adjust to biweekly or as-needed sessions based on your goals.

Duration: It depends on your needs. Some people come in for short-term support around a specific issue, while others benefit from ongoing work. We?ll regularly check in to make sure therapy continues to meet your goals.
