My Approach to Helping
Welcome to my practice, Elevation Mental Health Inc., where I have over a decade of experience specializing in research-based interventions for chronic worry, anxiety, and anxiety diagnoses. I aim to provide a genuine, straightforward counseling experience. In my experience, a counselor is only as good as their ability to connect with clients. Without this, a client's growth may be limited. Therefore, I endeavor to establish a supportive, safe, and balanced relationship with you, and that is vital to my counseling approach. I offer judgment-free, empathetic counseling that blends research-based interventions with a compassionate and nurturing therapeutic relationship.
More Info About My Practice
My therapeutic framework is founded in behavior therapy (BT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). These approaches to counseling are empirically supported and I will never use non-proven or experimental treatment modalities with you. Moreover, my therapeutic style embraces a collaborative approach, where we are partners in the process. You are the expert of you. I am an expert on human behavior and change processes. In tandem, we work to meet your therapeutic goals.
My Therapy Focus
While earning my Bachelor of Science in psychology from Washington University in Saint Louis, including graduate work at Washington University School of Medicine, my academic focus was on behavioral medicine. I often counseled individuals who are faced with the challenges of living with an acute or chronic illness and infirmity, or who desire to make life-improving behavior changes. At the University of Missouri--Saint Louis, and with a focus on counseling underserved communities, I completed my Master of Education in clinical mental health counseling. Finally, I continued with post-graduate training in applied behavior analysis from the University of Cincinnati where I concentrated on helping those who live with behavioral challenges and anxiety disorders.
