I am a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and a mental health therapist providing services in Michigan and Florida. I graduated in 2008 and 2009 with a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree, respectively, from Florida State University’s social work program.
I moved to Michigan after graduation, where I received my clinical license. I have over fifteen years of experience in the mental health field. That experience includes work in residential facilities for youth and delivering home-based family counseling services in Calhoun County for more than ten years.
Over that time, I received training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), Love and Logic parenting practices, 7 Challenges, and various other clinical interventions.
During my time in Calhoun County, I worked primarily with youth 5 to 17 years old and their families. In the last five years, my focus has shifted more to older adolescents and adults. I have worked with children and adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), oppositional defiant challenges, low self-esteem, life orientation concerns, psychosis, and suicidality, to name a few of the most common issues.
As a family therapist, I have a strong passion for helping guide others through the stressors of life. I am particularly drawn to supporting parents who are navigating their children’s challenges and their own emotional states while providing direction. I look forward to meeting each of you. If I cannot be of service, I will always work to help you find referrals to someone who can.
