What's My Approach to Therapy?

I am an Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist. IFS is a psycho-spiritual approach that is the most nonjudgmental, kind, gentle, and effective method I know. In IFS, no part of you is ever considered bad. Even though you may have been taught otherwise, you are healthy at your very core, and you can learn to access that core part of you. I am also trained in several trauma resolution methods, and I am a grief therapist. Grief is one of my primary specialties. I offer Repair and Reattachment Institute for Attachment and Developmental Trauma (IADC) grief therapy, as well as traditional grief therapy (see my website, www.therapyforinnerpeace.com, for information about these forms of grief therapy). Sessions can be done either in my office or online.

My Practice & Services

Sessions are strictly confidential, of course. When doing online sessions, I use a very secure, HIPAA compliant portal. Because of the online option, illness and bad weather are never issues. You may choose In-person sessions in my office as well. Both online and in-person ways of having therapy have their advantages. When seeking a psychotherapist, you will, of course, want someone who is qualified and highly ethical. These things are basic. Beyond this, you will want to know if the therapist has had success in working with your issue. Perhaps most importantly, you will look for a good "fit" between you and the therapist, someone you feel comfortable with and who will not judge you. I am happy to receive phone calls or emails with your questions.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

Of course I have studied a great deal to obtain professional education, tools, and methods to help people. But in addition, because I have had so much life experience, I also relate to many people's issues. This means I am in no position to judge you, and I do not! It also means I have a great understanding for what others are going through because of my own experiences.
