What's My Approach to Therapy?

Most of my work is based in psychoanalysis, which means that we look for the meaning behind thoughts and behaviors, as opposed to focusing on the behaviors per se.
Having been a performing musician as well as a mid-level executive in large organizations for many years, and having lived in several countries, traveling widely, I gained life experiences and analytical and interpersonal skills that help me work with a broad range of people.
I am a trained psychoanalyst and a Licensed marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I have been practicing psychotherapy for fourteen years.
Located in the center of Echo Park, my office is convenient to the 101, 110, and 2 freeways. Street parking (metered and unmetered) is easy.

Groups I Work With

I hesitate to state specific populations I work with because I don't want to exclude anyone who belongs to a group that I don't mention. At any rate, my practice these days consists primarily of men, ages 16 to 80. My patients are gay, straight, and bi, and they are handling depression, anxiety, bipolar, and adjusting to life changes. Life changes often bring up deeper questions such as meaning in life, beliefs, and spirituality. At the same time, trials of daily living can be challenging. We work together on anything that is disturbing, painful, or just plain stressful.
