My Approach to Therapy

Most of the struggles that bring people to therapy aren't really about the surface problem — they're about the parts of us that developed along the way to survive, cope, or belong, and that are still running the show long after they need to. My approach is rooted in Internal Family Systems — the belief that we all have different parts of ourselves, and that healing happens when we can meet those parts with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment or shame. I draw on relational, existential, and somatic frameworks alongside IFS — because how we feel in our bodies matters, how our early relationships shaped us matters, and the deeper questions of meaning, identity, and authenticity matter too. I also use Accelerated Resolution Therapy for trauma that needs more direct processing. Together we work to regulate the nervous system, reconnect with inner wisdom, and understand the patterns that have kept you stuck — so you can begin to live in a way that actually reflects who you are. My style is warm, curious, and collaborative. I believe you are the expert on your own experience. My job is to help you access what you already know.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Many of us move through life carrying patterns we didn't choose — ways of relating, protecting ourselves, or shutting down that made sense once but no longer serve us. Therapy offers a space to slow down and look at those patterns honestly, with support. Working from an Internal Family Systems lens, we explore the different parts of you that hold old pain, outdated beliefs, or protective strategies — not to get rid of them, but to understand them and give them room to shift. As those parts feel more understood and less burdened, something opens up. Anxiety loosens. Relationships feel less fraught. The inner critic gets quieter. What emerges is a deeper connection to yourself — who you actually are beneath the roles you play and the stories you've been told. That's not a small thing. For many people it changes everything.
