What's My Approach to Therapy?

I am interested in helping people navigate the many challenges life brings. As an active listener, I am careful to notice significant themes, so that we can then untangle complex situations and gain more understanding in moving forward. I also use creative and experiential approaches in couples therapy. When working with couples, I help my clients discover what is preventing them from feeling fully connected, develop compassion and understanding toward each other, and create new and positive ways of being together in a strong and loving bond. I believe therapy is an opportunity to delve into a process of self-discovery, and every person has the potential to grow, learn, heal, and make changes that bring more meaning and better satisfaction in life. As a music therapist, I integrate creative modalities for the purposes of self-exploration and processing thoughts and feelings. Experiencing imagery with the support of music, for example, can be particularly revealing of personal resources and insight.
