What's My Approach to Therapy?

I believe that relational wounds heal relationally. As human beings, we are meant to live, grow, and heal in connection with others, and when that connection is broken or unsafe, it leaves a lasting impact. My work as a therapist is rooted in creating a safe, compassionate, and collaborative space where those wounds can be acknowledged, explored, and transformed.

I take a holistic approach to therapy, understanding that mind, body, spirit, culture, and community are deeply interconnected. The hustle and constant demands of Western culture often leave us disconnected from ourselves and each other, and I believe that slowing down, reconnecting, and drawing on ancestral and cultural wisdom is essential to deep, sustainable healing.

After serving in the U.S. Navy, I earned my Bachelor of Science in psychology from Fordham University and my Master of Science in marriage and family therapy from The Family Institute at Northwestern University. Over the years, I have worked extensively with children and families formed through adoption or subsidized guardianship, supporting them through attachment challenges, complex trauma, grief, anger, depression, and the unique experiences that come with these family journeys.

My clinical work includes supporting intercultural and interracial couples, navigating complex family dynamics, and guiding clients through life transitions and first-generation experiences. I also work with women’s issues, anxiety, depression, and posttraumatic stress (PTSD), tailoring my approach to honor the complexity of each client’s identity and life story. I am passionate about serving individuals and families connected to the military, those navigating racial, immigration, and cultural identity challenges, and couples preparing for marriage or adjusting to new chapters in their relationship.

My style is warm, direct, and collaborative—I meet clients where they are and walk alongside them with curiosity, respect, and optimism. No matter your story, I will honor your lived experience, invite your most authentic self into the room, and work with you toward the healing and growth you deserve.

AAMFT Approved Supervisor

Supervision is one of my favorite parts of being a therapist; it’s a space where growth, reflection, and authenticity meet. I believe the supervisory relationship is just as important as the therapeutic one. My approach is humanistic and relational, focusing on self of the therapist work, helping you feel fully embodied, confident, and at ease in your unique therapeutic presence.

I see supervision as a collaborative and supportive process, where we explore both your clinical skills and your personal growth as a practitioner. I aim to create a safe, caring, and nonjudgmental environment that encourages connection, vulnerability, and curiosity. My goal is for you to leave supervision not only with practical tools, but also with a deeper sense of self-trust and confidence in your work.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, trained at The Family Institute at Northwestern University, where I earned my Master of Science in marriage and family therapy in 2015. I am also trained in Theraplay through The Theraplay Institute, and in Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI). My supervision style blends evidence-based practices with an appreciation for relational, cultural, and systemic influences, helping you integrate theory with your authentic self as a clinician.

I love supporting therapists at all stages of their careers, and would be honored to be part of your professional journey.

My Practice & Services

At Soleil and Hearth Therapy, we believe that healing happens in relationship—relational wounds heal relationally. The “Soleil” represents warmth, light, and growth, while the “Hearth” symbolizes home, safety, and connection. Together, they reflect our mission: to create a space where you can be seen, heard, and supported as you navigate life’s challenges and embrace your fullest self.

We take a holistic approach to therapy, honoring the deep connection between mind, body, spirit, culture, and community. We recognize that the pace and demands of Western culture can leave us disconnected from ourselves and our roots, and we value integrating ancestral and cultural wisdom into the healing process.

Our practice supports individuals, couples, and families in areas such as intercultural and interracial relationships, complex family dynamics, life transitions and first-generation experiences, women’s issues, anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress (PTSD), adoption and guardianship-related challenges, military life, and cultural identity concerns.

Therapy at Soleil and Hearth is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each client’s unique story. Whether you are seeking to repair relationships, navigate personal transitions, or reconnect with your sense of self, we provide a safe, welcoming environment for connection, vulnerability, and growth.

We offer therapeutic services to clients in Illinois and well-being coaching worldwide.
