What's My Approach to Therapy?

You may be struggling with anxiety, unresolved trauma, or the exhaustion that comes with navigating cultural transition, identity, and belonging. You may have been managing it well enough for a long time. At some point, managing is no longer sufficient. I am a licensed psychologist, born in South Africa, and a first-generation college student in the United States, and that background is not incidental to my clinical work. I understand from the inside what it means to carry multiple cultural contexts, negotiate belonging, and build a life across worlds. I work with adults and teenagers facing anxiety, trauma, acculturation stress, and identity-related distress, with particular attunement to Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) communities and Muslim clients for whom faith and cultural context are inseparable from the work. I also work with women navigating the emotional complexity of fertility treatment and assisted reproduction. My approach is relational and unhurried. I pay attention to history, patterns, and the cultural forces that shape a person’s inner life. This type of work is serious and the change is real, but it takes time and genuine engagement from both sides of the room.

My Practice & Services

Real Talk Clinical Psychology is a doctoral-level group practice in Houston led by multilingual, multicultural psychologists. We provide depth-oriented psychotherapy grounded in rigorous training and a genuine commitment to high-quality clinical care. Our team works in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Farsi, and we welcome patients looking for therapy that makes room for the complexity of being human. We accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, United Healthcare, Oscar, Tricare, Curative. We offer both in-person sessions in Houston and telehealth across Texas. I also serve as the clinical preceptor for our postdoctoral fellowship in clinical psychology, where doctoral-level psychologists complete supervised training alongside licensed clinicians.
