My Approach to Therapy

Compassionate, understanding, caring, genuine, knowledgeable, and experienced are what every person who seeks a therapist should find in their therapist. Those words describe my style of relating as a therapist. My life experience as a mother and from a middle-class working family has shaped who I am as a therapist. I became a mental health counselor after realizing the importance of having a therapist who truly wanted to assist in making positive changes in life. It is my belief that our behaviors are shaped by our thoughts and feelings. Change is difficult and requires persistent hard work with a dedicated therapist. I am dedicated to every person who wants help. I will be dedicated to you in your therapy process.

My Practice & Services

My practice is a private practice located in the heart of rural Wisconsin. I chose the location of Monroe, Wisconsin, because I share a love for farming. I grew up on a dairy farm and still have connections in the dairy farming industry. I can relate to the struggles of the people in this community.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Going to see a therapist takes courage and desire to improve ones self. It is scary and unsettling to ask for help. Many believe a therapist will judge. A good therapist will never judge. The person that goes to a therapist is to be looked up to because it takes courage to ask for help and to accept help. The result of therapy is to become the person who you were created to be.
