My Approach to Therapy
My counseling philosophy is not complex. I work where you need to work, challenge you when it’s necessary, and guide you through learning skills and coping mechanisms that help you move forward instead of being stuck where you currently find yourself. Life can get better and your future brighter. Counseling helps with getting you there. Together with your effort and utilizing your strengths, we can work toward setting goals and making progress together. As a practitioner, I believe strongly in acceptance, being culturally aware and sensitive, and fully respecting you and the journey you have been on.
My Practice & Services
Getting a degree and training to be a counselor is a large part of my practice and is very important. My life experience also offers a different level of insight as I work with clients. As a father I understand parenting and raising children. As a former educator, I have a different perspective on working with children struggling with behaviors in the home and classroom. And as a former child, I bring my experiences to helping clients understand regulation, the importance of attachment, and why understanding who you are is important to healing and growing.

The very moment we meet my goal is ensure that I connect with you and give you what you deserve to make therapy work. Each and every session I monitor how we are working together and if doesn't feel like we are connecting, then I will ask you about what you feel. In the end, if we it doesn't work out, I will help you find someone that might be a better fit. In the end, the important thing is that you get the person that can help you.
