What's My Approach to Therapy?
My journey as a therapist began over a decade ago in Minnesota, where I supported individuals and families affected by addiction and co-occurring mental health concerns. More recently, I opened my private practice in Washington and have enjoyed expanding my work to include trauma-informed and somatic therapy.
I enjoy working with individuals who are ready to explore new ways of coping with everyday life challenges, as well as the lasting effects of trauma and addiction. This work often includes understanding how past experiences continue to shape present-day patterns and coping. Change doesn’t require having everything figured out—it starts with honesty and willingness.
Therapy offers a safe space to slow down, talk openly about what is difficult, and begin to understand yourself with greater clarity. The therapeutic relationship should be collaborative, relational, and rooted in curiosity. I take a client-centered, integrative approach, drawing from CBT, DBT, IFS, mindfulness, and somatic therapies to support emotional regulation, deepen self-understanding, and promote meaningful change.
Because finding the right therapist is an important part of the process, I offer a 15-minute consultation where you can get to know me, ask questions, and decide whether working together feels like a good fit.
