My Approach to Helping
It can be a difficult step to start counseling, so I provide a warm, relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. I practice trauma informed care, which means I understand how possible past trauma may affect you, and I set up my counseling practice to avoid any further harm, whether or not you have experienced trauma. We approach your goals at the pace that works for you, as pressure to talk about trauma before you are ready can be re-traumatizing. I am continually educating myself in evidence-proven methods, so I can provide the most up to date and effective counseling. My goal is to make you feel safe and unconditionally accepted. You will choose the goals to work on, and we will regularly check in on those goals to ensure progress is being made.
