My Approach to Therapy

You may be feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from the person you want to be. Perhaps anxiety, negative thoughts, relationship stress, grief, or a difficult life transition has made it harder to feel confident and grounded. You may understand what you are going through, but still feel unsure about how to move forward. You do not have to figure it all out alone. My approach to therapy is to be real with you, warm, collaborative, and practical. As a licensed psychotherapist in Michigan, I provide a supportive space where you can speak honestly, explore your emotions, and better understand the patterns affecting your well-being. Together, we will identify your strengths, clarify what you need, and develop realistic tools you can use in your everyday life. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), DBT-Informed, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and strength-based and eclectic person-centered approaches. This allows our work to be personalized rather than one-size-fits-all. Depending on your needs, we may focus on challenging unhelpful thoughts, managing stress and anxiety, improving communication, strengthening boundaries, processing loss, or rebuilding your confidence and self-trust. I also offer group therapy designed to help women strengthen their self-esteem, confidence, and sense of identity. Through guided discussions, practical exercises, and connection with others, women can learn healthier ways to view themselves, express their needs, and create meaningful change. My goal is to help you feel heard, supported, and equipped, not judged or rushed. Therapy is a process, and I will meet you with compassion while also helping you take meaningful steps toward the life and emotional wellness you desire.

My Practice & Services

The Self-Esteem Skills Group at Anchored Hope CC is designed for women who struggle with self-doubt, negative self-talk, people-pleasing, difficulty setting boundaries, or feeling disconnected from their confidence and sense of worth. In this supportive virtual group, participants will learn practical skills to strengthen self-esteem, challenge unhelpful beliefs, communicate more confidently, and develop healthier ways of showing up for themselves. The group offers a safe space to reflect, connect with other women, and practice tools for everyday life. Benefits may include increased confidence, improved boundaries, greater self-awareness, healthier relationships, and a stronger sense of personal value. This group is ideal for women who are ready to stop shrinking, build emotional wellness, and begin seeing themselves through a more compassionate and empowered lens.

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

I see therapy as a space where you can be honest, feel supported, and work through what has been weighing on you without judgment. We will talk through what you are experiencing, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and practice tools you can use in everyday life. I bring a warm, down-to-earth approach while also offering encouragement, honest feedback, and practical next steps. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you while still working toward meaningful change.

Groups I Work With

I provide virtual individual therapy for adults throughout Michigan, including clients in Metro Detroit. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, chronic stress, low self-esteem, grief and loss, relationship concerns, caregiver stress, work-related stress, and major life transitions. Christian counseling and faith-based therapy are available for clients who would like to incorporate their faith and Scripture into the therapeutic process. Faith integration is always optional, and clients of all backgrounds and beliefs are welcome. I especially enjoy helping women who feel emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or uncertain about their next steps. My work supports women who want to strengthen their confidence, develop healthier boundaries, improve communication, reduce people-pleasing, and rebuild their sense of self-worth. Through my women’s group therapy services, I help women develop practical skills for improving self-esteem, confidence, emotional wellness, healthy relationships, and self-advocacy while connecting with others in a supportive environment.
