My Approach to Therapy

You may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, disconnected in your relationships, or unsure how to move forward during a major life change. Perhaps the same patterns keep showing up, even when you understand that something needs to change. Therapy can offer space to make sense of what you are experiencing and explore a different way forward. I’m Dr. Shannon Daneshrad, a licensed clinical psychologist in Beverly Hills. I work with teens, adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, and life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and attentive to your individual experiences, culture, and goals. Together, we can explore how past experiences and relationship patterns influence your life today. I draw on psychodynamic therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), combining deeper understanding with practical ways to work through difficult thoughts, emotions, and everyday challenges. Our work may focus on expressing your needs, strengthening relationships, building self-understanding, or navigating a painful transition. You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. I welcome people from diverse backgrounds and offer therapy in English and Farsi. If you would like to explore working together, contact me for a free initial phone consultation to discuss what brings you to therapy and whether my approach feels like a good fit.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Relationship challenges can leave you feeling unheard, disconnected, or caught in recurring conflict. I help individuals, couples, and families explore these patterns and work toward clearer communication and a better understanding of their needs. I also support clients through anxiety, depression, grief, and transitions such as separation, divorce, changes at work, or fertility challenges. We can make room for the emotions these experiences bring while exploring ways to move forward that reflect your values and goals.
