My Approach to Helping
As a licensed psychotherapist, I work with those who are navigating current relationships and life events with overwhelming feelings of inadequacy, shame, and anxiety. They often have difficulty recognizing their strengths, which interferes with their ability to reach their full potential. Recovery from these patterns is possible. It involves an understanding of earlier life experiences, and a commitment to developing a more compassionate and realistic view of yourself. I'm fortunate to have over 20 years of experience providing a calm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space for growth in both mental health and medical settings.
I can support you in using your personal strengths to engage in creative problem-solving, to understand and change unhealthy patterns, and in broadening your perspective on the challenges and traumatic events you've experienced. I am extensively trained in evidence-based, primarily cognitive-behavioral approaches to address anxiety, depression, and trauma.
I look forward to working collaboratively toward your goals in a way that strengthens your resilience, as this is a strong predictor of success in an unpredictable world. My hope is that you'll come away from our work together with a stronger sense of integrity and personal boundaries, capable of sharing your authentic self with others.
