What's My Approach to Therapy?
I’m a Certified Sexuality Educator (CSE) through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) with 16 years of clinical experience; I bring a direct, grounded, and deeply authentic approach to relationship therapy. Clients often come to me because they want someone fully present, engaged and willing to talk openly about the things that feel hardest to say. I believe relationships thrive when people feel safe enough to speak honestly, explore their desires and stay connected to themselves. I work to create that kind of space from the very first session.
Sexual and relational concerns can feel overwhelming, isolating, or confusing. Many of us were never taught how to talk about desire, boundaries, fears, or needs. My role is to help you move past silence and uncertainty so you can understand what’s happening, communicate more clearly and reconnect with your own agency. Together, we identify what you want, what’s getting in the way and how to move toward the relationships and experiences that feel right for you.
Across my career, I’ve worked extensively with individuals, in couples counseling and in family therapy settings with both chosen and biological family networks. My areas of focus include sexual dysfunction, desire discrepancy, sexual communication and negotiation, self-advocacy, family-of-origin exploration, non-monogamy and other non-traditional relationship structures, anxiety, gender, life transitions and relational dynamics.
In addition to therapy, I offer individualized sex education sessions. I’ve been teaching sex education for 18 years and I hold the CSE credential. These one- to two-hour sessions are ideal for people who have specific questions or concerns that may not require ongoing therapy. You can ask focused questions, explore areas of curiosity or difficulty and receive clear information, guidance and resources to support your sexual well-being. It’s a structured, judgment-free space to learn, understand, and address sexual concerns with the support of an experienced educator.
