My Approach to Helping
Every person’s journey through life is unique; therefore, I tailor each session to the specific needs of the individuals I am working with. It is very important to me that each time we meet you walk away with something you did not previously have.
The way we perceive situations influences our emotions and behaviors so it is essential for me to understand your perspective. My approach typically starts with identifying any unhelpful thought patterns that may be hindering your progress or fueling those "uncomfortable" emotions. Once identified, you will learn tools to challenge them and utilize these skills outside of therapy. In addition to a cognitive approach, I incorporate other modalities that match your goals. My extensive experience includes helping others through anxiety, depression, relationships, anger, sleep problems, stress, parenting concerns, substance abuse and domestic abuse. Individuals I worked with have described me as genuine, non-judgmental and effective. In collaboration, we will work together towards the common goal of improving your quality of life!
