My Approach to Therapy
I'm a licensed psychologist specializing in comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational evaluations and therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults, and my work centers on one belief: every young person has real strengths, and understanding those strengths is where meaningful change begins.
Finding the right support for your child can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to figure it out alone. I take a collaborative, strengths-based approach. Rather than reducing a child to a label, I work to understand their whole profile, how they think, learn, feel, and relate, so families leave with genuine clarity rather than just a diagnosis. My evaluations assess attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), learning challenges, anxiety, mood-related concerns, and executive functioning and behavioral challenges, and they always come with clear, practical recommendations that families and schools can put into action right away.
When I provide therapy, I start by building a strong, genuine connection. From there, I draw on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), solution-focused, and person-centered approaches, choosing what fits each client's developmental level and individual needs. The techniques matter, but I've found that real change comes from feeling understood and supported. My aim is always to create a warm, engaging space where young people feel truly seen.
I'm passionate about helping young people understand themselves, build confidence, and develop lasting skills for success at home, at school, and in daily life. Whether you're seeking answers through an evaluation or a safe space for your child to grow in therapy, I'd be glad to help. Reach out today and take that first step toward clarity and confidence.
My Practice & Services
My Role as a Therapist
I see myself as a partner to both the young person and their family. With children and teens, that means meeting them at their developmental level, earning their trust, and making the work feel safe, even engaging. With families, it means translating what I observe into language and next steps that actually help at home and at school. I'm a guide and a collaborator, not just an evaluator.
What I Love About This Work
There's a particular moment I never tire of: when a child or family finally understands what's been going on, and the confusion lifts. Watching a young person realize their struggles have an explanation, and that they have real strengths to build on, is why I do this. Helping them move from feeling stuck to feeling capable is the heart of it.
Important Factors for Choosing a Provider
For evaluations, look for someone who goes beyond the diagnosis to give you usable, practical guidance. For therapy, the relationship matters most; your child should feel comfortable and understood. I encourage families to use a consultation to get a feel for fit before committing.
The Concerns I Work With Most
attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), learning disabilities and dyslexia, autism and developmental concerns, anxiety, depression and mood concerns, obsessive-compulsive challenges (OCD), executive functioning, and school-related and behavioral challenges, through both comprehensive evaluation and therapy.
