My Approach to Therapy

Hi! I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) who enjoys working with children, adolescents, families, and young adults. I have experience supporting clients from diverse backgrounds who are navigating concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and self-esteem challenges. I believe therapy works best when it feels safe, supportive, and collaborative. My role is to walk alongside you on your journey—listening, supporting, and at times gently challenging you—while always meeting you with compassion and without judgment. My hope is that therapy becomes a space where you feel comfortable being yourself and sharing openly. I work through a holistic and culturally sensitive lens, recognizing that our identities, experiences, and relationships all shape our mental health. With a background in child development, and experience as a school social worker, I have a strong understanding of how family systems and early attachment relationships influence our emotional well-being. I am deeply passionate about this work because I believe everyone deserves access to mental health care, and the chance to feel happy. Life can be challenging, and asking for help is a courageous step. I'm already proud of you! You are more than capable of achieving your goals. If you’re considering therapy, I would be honored to support you in this journey to healing.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Asking for help is a source of strength! You are not weak or flawed for seeking out therapy. Despite the messaging that we often times get from our family or communities that therapy makes you weak; is deeply untrue. You are strong and powerful beyond measure, and I'm proud of you for taking this step.

Groups I Work With

My approach to therapy is integrative and personalized. I draw from multiple therapeutic modalities and tailor our work together based on your unique needs, strengths, and goals. In our first few sessions, we'll spend time getting to know one another. You'll have the opportunity to share your story and what you're hoping to gain from therapy, and together we'll create goals that feel achievable. I help children, teens, and young adults work through anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, and body image issues. As a team, we can build coping skills that work best for you. Together, we can create a space conducive to healing, confidence, and growth. Therapy with me is supportive, down-to-earth, and focused on helping you feel more like yourself again! I believe mental health care should be accessible, affirming, and free from stigma. I am deeply passionate about creating spaces where people—especially those from historically marginalized and unheard communities—feel seen, valued, and empowered to share their stories. I am committed to uplifting the Black community while standing in solidarity with all marginalized populations, including immigrants and first-generation individuals who often navigate systems not built with them in mind. Racial equity, immigrant rights, and social justice are not separate from mental health—they are central to it. I believe healing happens when voices are honored, cultural experiences are respected, and people are supported without judgment. Everyone deserves compassionate care and the opportunity to be heard.
