What's My Approach to Therapy?

My approach to healing is grounded in the belief that our symptoms, patterns, and struggles often make sense when we understand the experiences that shaped us. Many people come to therapy feeling stuck in cycles of anxiety, self-doubt, relationship challenges, or the lingering impact of trauma. Together, we explore how past experiences may still be influencing your present life and work toward creating new possibilities for how you relate to yourself and others. I draw primarily from EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), two approaches that help us access and process experiences that may be difficult to reach through traditional talk therapy alone. These methods allow us to gently understand the different “parts” of ourselves that developed in response to life experiences and to process unresolved memories that may still hold emotional charge. At the heart of my work is a collaborative relationship. I see therapy as something we do together, at a pace that feels safe and respectful of your nervous system and your story. My role is to hold a space that is curious, compassionate, and non-judgmental while supporting you in building insight, emotional language, and practical tools for daily life. Healing is rarely linear. It is often a process of returning to ourselves, learning to listen to the parts of us that needed care for a long time, and gradually rewriting the narrative we carry about who we are and what is possible for our future.

My Practice & Services

Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process. I aim to meet each client where they are and tailor our work to what feels most meaningful and useful for them. Some people come to therapy looking for practical tools to manage anxiety, stress, or difficult emotions. Others are hoping to better understand patterns in their relationships, process past experiences, or navigate important life transitions. Our work can include both reflection and skill-building so that insights in therapy translate into real change in daily life. I have experience supporting individuals facing depression, anxiety, trauma-related symptoms, chronic stress, and identity-related challenges. I also work with clients who are navigating cultural expectations, family dynamics, and questions of identity or belonging. My background working in medical and psychiatric settings has also shaped my ability to support people through periods of crisis, health concerns, and major life changes. Above all, I strive to create a space where clients feel respected, understood, and able to speak openly about what they’re experiencing. Therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of what you’ve been carrying, and begin to move forward with greater clarity and intention.
