My Approach to Helping
Clinical research is continuing to reveal that addiction is a multi-faceted illness that negatively effects many aspects of a person's being. Unlike traditional therapy that focuses on one aspect of a person's functioning (primarily psychological), I treat the entire person, not just his or her addiction. I am a faith-based, holistic addictions counseling practice that treats my clients' mind, body, and spirit. Research indicates that when multiple aspects of a person's being are treated and engaged at the same time, the greater outcome for success. My practice also offers additional services in order to comprehensively treat my clients; for individual therapy clients, I offer complimentary nutritional recovery coaching as well as a discounted rate to a local Crossfit Gym. I also offer services for family members such as addictions coaching and interventions. Since addiction is a family disease and everyone is part of a system, it is important to ensure that the family system is functioning properly in order to ensure more successful recovery outcomes.
Due to the sensitive nature of addiction, it is important to seek help from someone who understands. Having had my own personal recovery experience, I understand and relate to the challenges of maintaining one's recovery on a daily basis. I offer a safe, warm, non-judgmental environment in order to partner with my clients as we embark on a life towards recovery, healing, and restoration.
