My Approach to Therapy

If you're reaching out, there's a good chance you've been carrying something painful for a long time. Maybe you and your partner keep having the same arguments, feel more like roommates than a couple, or struggle to feel understood. Or perhaps you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. My goal is to help you understand what's happening beneath those patterns, rather than simply manage the symptoms. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and I primarily use emotionally focused therapy (EFT), a research-supported approach that helps couples strengthen their emotional connection and helps individuals better understand themselves and their relationships. Together, we'll work to create lasting change so you can feel more connected, understood, and secure.

My Practice & Services

Many couples wait years before reaching out because they worry therapy will turn into another place where they argue or where one partner gets blamed. My goal is to create a space where both people feel understood and where we work together to understand the patterns keeping you stuck instead of deciding who's right or wrong. I primarily work with couples who feel disconnected, caught in recurring conflict, recovering from infidelity, or struggling to rebuild trust. I also work with individuals who want to better understand themselves and their relationships. Sessions are available in person in Columbia, Maryland and virtually throughout Maryland.

Specific Issues I'm Skilled at Helping With

• Feeling more like roommates than partners • Repeating the same arguments without resolution • Communication breakdowns • Emotional disconnection • Infidelity and rebuilding trust • Parenting stress affecting the relationship • One partner pursues while the other withdraws • Feeling unheard, criticized, or emotionally alone

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

Finding the right therapist matters more than finding the "perfect" approach. Look for someone you feel comfortable being honest with, who helps both partners feel understood rather than taking sides, and who has specialized training in the issues you're facing. A strong therapeutic relationship creates the safety needed for meaningful change.
