My Approach to Therapy

I love working with adults who have lived. People navigating anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, self-esteem concerns, and major life transitions. Many of my clients feel stuck in unhelpful patterns or overwhelmed by change, and theyre ready for practical tools that make day-to-day life feel more manageable. If youre looking for a therapist who keeps it real and meets you where youre at, youre in the right place. I also love working with couples. Relationship stress can show up as conflict, distance, communication breakdowns, or feeling disconnected. In couples counseling, we focus on strengthening your bond and building a more secure foundation through improved communication, emotional closeness, and repair strategies. A strong relationship supports not only the partnership itself, but the well-being of the family system, too.

My Practice & Services

Mindset Solutions Counselling is a small, independent private practice based in Calgary, Alberta. I am not part of a large corporate network, which means you wont feel like a number in a system. I intentionally keep my caseload manageable so I can offer thoughtful, individualized care and maintain continuity in our work together. I provide adult individual therapy, couples counselling, and formal psychological assessments, including comprehensive adult attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD) assessments. Assessment services include structured interviews, standardized measures, and a detailed written report with diagnostic clarification and practical recommendations. Sessions are available both in person (Calgary area) and virtually across Alberta. I offer a complimentary consultation call so you can ask questions, get a feel for my approach, and decide whether we are a good fit before committing to therapy. In addition to clinical services, I provide supervision for provisional psychologists working toward registration hours in Alberta. My supervision is structured, integrative, and focused on building both clinical skill and professional confidence. My practice values honesty, warmth, and collaboration. Therapy here is active and goal-oriented. We identify clear objectives, track progress, and adjust as needed. Whether you are seeking support for anxiety, relationship challenges, emotional regulation, or a formal assessment, the goal is sustainable change, not just short-term relief. If youre unsure where to start, thats okay. Reaching out is enough for now.

My Guiding Ethical Principles

I am committed to providing therapy and supervision in a way that is ethical, transparent, and client-centered. I adhere to the standards set by the College of Alberta Psychologists and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, ensuring that all work is grounded in professional responsibility and integrity. In practice, this means: Confidentiality is always respected; your information is protected, and you are informed about the limits of privacy. Respect and inclusivity guide my work; I honor diverse backgrounds, identities, and experiences, and I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for everyone. Collaboration and informed consent are central; I make sure you understand the therapeutic process, the goals we set together, and any assessments or interventions used. Competence and continuous growth are priorities; I stay current with evidence-based approaches, regularly engage in professional development, and reflect on my practice to ensure the best care possible. Boundaries and transparency are maintained; I communicate clearly about fees, scheduling, and expectations so therapy feels safe and predictable. Ultimately, my ethical commitment is to your well-being, autonomy, and growth, providing guidance and support that is honest, responsible, and grounded in professional standards.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

I believe the foundation of effective therapy is a strong, collaborative relationship between client and therapist. Change happens most when you feel seen, heard, and understood, and when trust allows you to explore difficult thoughts and feelings safely. My role is to create a supportive space where you can be honest, take risks, and experiment with new ways of thinking and relating ? all while knowing you have guidance and validation along the way. Together, we build a partnership focused on your growth, insight, and lasting change.
