My Approach to Helping

I have had the honor of witnessing the undeniable resilience of the human spirit first hand, and it would be my privilege to walk beside you on your journey to wellness. My counseling style is warm, compassionate, solution-focused and person-centered. I help men, women, young people, and children to resolve adverse issues such as anxiety, depression, family issues, relationship challenges, women's issues, child or adolescent issues, and addiction.
My areas of expertise include addressing emotional disturbances, anxiety, depression, and weight loss challenges. I also provide professional guidance to people who are interested in existential exploration, personal growth, career change, and health and wellness management.
In addition to my advanced training and clinical experience in psychotherapy, I am a nutrition consultant, and I am seeking eventual certification as a personal trainer. I truly believe in the power of positivity and the benefits of a holistic approach to treatment. Therapy has helped many people to change unhealthy habits, improve their relationships, overcome fear, and increase wellness. My mental health practice is located at Whole Wellness Services in Pittsford, New York. We believe in helping you understand your circumstances, your strengths, and the many facets of your personality so that you can become your best self. Our team consists of highly trained specialists who utilize evidence-based treatments such as EMDR, art therapy, Music Therapy, Wilderness therapy, and child specialization. In addition to traditional counseling, our services also include group sessions, collaborative coaching, e-sessions, and workshops.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
In my eyes, therapy is a journey. This deeply personal and individual experience is a process of personal wellness exploration. Therapy can help with many life concerns, from improving mental health symptoms and learning coping tools, to formulating and executing many types of goals, to achieving overall happiness and balance. At every stage in life and for every person, therapy can be useful. Often, there is a stigma attached to therapy that holds people back from coming in; the idea that therapy means you are "sick." This idea is based around a period of time when therapy was more pathologically based. The reality is today, however, that a perfectly healthy individual can benefit from therapy. At it's most basic level, it's about human connection and support, and the wonderful benefits of having a shoulder to lean on when things get complicated, or an unbiased person to bounce ideas off of.
