Nicole Ceusters, MS, LMHC

I'm a mental health therapist licensed in Florida and Delaware, with over 15 years of experience working in social services, including vocational rehab, case management, and mental health therapy. I have worked with a variety of clients with concerns such as depression, anxiety, mood instability, and parenting difficulties, and I specialize in attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), autism, and trauma. My internship focused on helping children, teens, and adults heal from trauma and posttraumatic stress (PTSD). I have a master's in counseling with applied behavior analysis (ABA), as well as a master's certificate in play therapy. I am all but dissertation in a developmental psychology PhD program.

I am trained in a couple different evidence-based trauma treatment modalities: trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)) and cognitive processing therapy (CPT). Both approaches focus on understanding the connection between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and on processing painful events through structured sessions, talking things through, and learning to shift negative thinking patterns. TF-CBT and CPT are considered two of the most effective ways to heal and process traumatic events. It is never too late to heal, even if it has been years. Many therapists don't have training or experience in helping neurodiverse clients throughout the therapeutic process. Whether working on emotional dysfunction, time and organization skills, behavior or academic difficulties, through a therapeutic environment I help clients to understand their neurodiversity and implement different techniques to improve mood and achieve their goals. Many parents need assistance in learning how to be more mindful of their child's symptoms and helping them learn to be successful in academic and social endeavors. I have training and experience in behavior modification and also work with children to learn about themselves and have more understanding for their neurodiverse super powers.
