My Approach to Therapy
While I have trained extensively in different therapy models, which has provided me with an in-depth psychological reference, many years of working with people has taught me it is relationship that is central to the heart of therapy. Relationship with oneself, relationship with the therapist and my relationship with myself. The creation of an authentic relationship is a personal process that requires an open heart and a well informed sensitive approach. This is the heart of my therapy practice. My Therapy Focus
Much of my therapeutic work is with couples where I practice Emotionally Focused Therapy. EFT is an attachment based process that helps couples to get past the stuck places in their relationship by seeing how they caught in a negative cycle that is driven by connection needs. As couples see this cycle and begin to work this pattern in therapy, they find a much deeper connection that does not entail the requirement of giving up who they are. This connection allows for an acceptance of their fears and longings thus creating secure attachment. Couples then can rest together and feel supported and understood.
