My Approach to Therapy

I work with women who became the cycle breakers in their families. They’ve built the kind of life they once hoped for: steady relationships, a secure home, and maybe a family of their own. Yet, they still find themselves bracing for the moment it all falls apart. If you grew up in a household that felt unpredictable, your nervous system may have learned that staying alert was the safest way to get through the day. That vigilance made sense then, but it doesn’t always know how to rest now, even in a life you’ve worked hard to build. You overthink, stay on guard, and wonder if the good will last. My approach is grounded in the belief that healing isn’t just about understanding your story; it’s about helping your nervous system realize that the danger it prepared you for isn’t happening anymore. I use eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), somatic therapy, relational therapy, and the Gottman Method to help you feel safer, more connected, and more present in your life and relationships. If you’ve spent years thinking, “I should be over this by now,” I hope you’ll begin looking at yourself with more compassion. Therapy with me goes beyond symptom management and coping skills. Together, we’ll reconnect with your strengths, build new ones where needed, and help you move forward with greater confidence.
