My Approach to Helping

Someone experienced with and dedicated to working through the root causes of your concerns as well as addressing and easing your difficult, confusing or secret feelings and behaviors? I am here to listen and to guide you through your growth and healing process.
Great and permanent change comes from a strong therapeutic relationship in which you feel safe enough to share your struggles, express difficult emotions, and take risks toward change. My goal is always to help you feel safe, supported and understood, while also challenging you to access and develop your strengths and potential.
My way of working takes all of who you are into consideration -- your mind, body, spirit, family, community and culture. My style is warm, open and engaged. My approach is active, interactive, curious and respectful; offering feedback with a compassionate blend of support and challenge. I work at a level of depth but I am also practical and down to earth, integrating inquiry, conversation and mind-body techniques.
I bring extensive experience in helping people work through trauma, anxiety, addiction, relationship difficulties, childhood emotional neglect, depression, issues around sexuality, ACOA and other family concerns. I also provide 12 Step support. I value gender, sexual, racial, class, disability, religious and spiritual identity. I specialize in helping people who have cultivated their intellect and creativity and who would now like to develop their emotional and relational worlds.
