Making the decision to see a counselor can be difficult. It can be hard to admit when we need help. My goal is to create a relaxing atmosphere so that you can feel comfortable sharing your story.
Psychotherapy is not about focusing on the problems in life, but more about solution building. Although it acknowledges present problems and past causes, it predominantly explores your current resources and future hopes, helping you to look forward and use your own strengths to achieve your goals. I will guide you as you learn more about yourself so that you can tackle any difficult situation with confidence, empathy, and skill.
I believe that you are equipped with the skills to create change in your life, though you may need help refining and identifying those skills. It is also my belief that you know at least on some level what change is needed in your life. I am professionally trained to help you clarify your goals and guide you to see what is working for you, as well as, encourage you to experiment with new approaches to your problems.
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and clinically certified anxiety treatment professional with over ten years of experience. I use an interactive approach to counseling that combines elements of cognitive-behavioral, dialectical behavioral, and acceptance and commitment techniques to help you challenge your thoughts and accept that you can live an empowered life.
I have done a lot of work with people struggling with anxiety and self-esteem, helping clients identify root causes, historical messages, and present-day barriers that keep them feeling stuck. I help people identify strategies to build confidence and learn techniques to manage anxious predictions.
I work with adults and couples who are struggling with obstacles in their lives, helping them to overcome barriers so that they can find their passion and purpose.
