What's My Approach to Therapy?

You’re fighting with your partner. Work stress is too much. Life feels out of balance and unfair. Maybe you’re struggling with infertility, or postpartum anxiety and depression. No matter what part of your life is presenting challenges, when you step into my office, you are one step closer to feeling better.

Through the use of emotionally focused therapy, internal family systems (IFS), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and other therapeutic modalities, I will help you get to the other side, with hope, understanding, and compassion. My style has been described as animated and supportive in a way that lets you know I am on your side, and wholly invested in your success. My expertise in attachment informs the way I think about and work with clients, meaning your experience with me will probably be different than a lot of other therapists. Your life and story are personal and unique, which means your therapy journey needs to be tailored to you. That is exactly what I can offer.

My Practice & Services

I specialize in helping empower couples and individuals to have the types of relationships they want to have and live the kinds of lives they want to live. Located in Lowry Hill, Minneapolis, my office is a convenient and comfortable place to meet and connect. I offer both daytime and early evening appointments to meet the needs of busy parents and professionals.

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

So have I. In fact, I have had more negative than positive experiences. Because of this, I realized that a good therapist doesn't sit passively and just listen (randomly throwing in the requisite "and how does that make you feel"). They must engage, challenge assumptions, and show genuine compassion. After a lot of trial and error, I found that therapist and she changed my life forever.

When I started thinking about myself as a therapist, I realized that I could never be one who is passive or generic in my approach. I am naturally an animated, engaged, honest, curious, analytical, empathetic, non-judgmental, challenging and direct person, and that is who will show up in every session with you. Together, I am confident we can create a positive therapeutic experience for you.
