My Approach to Therapy

If you're here, chances are you've been carrying more than you should have to carry on your own. You may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, stress, trauma, relationship challenges, grief, depression, or simply exhausted from trying to hold everything together. Perhaps you've been telling yourself you should be able to manage it on your own, yet something still doesn't feel right. Whatever brought you here, you don't have to face it alone. I believe that healing begins with feeling genuinely heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. My role is to provide a safe, compassionate, and collaborative space where you can explore your experiences, better understand yourself, and develop practical tools that support meaningful, lasting change. I work with adults, couples, first responders, healthcare professionals, newcomers, refugees, and people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Whether you're struggling with the effects of trauma, posttraumatic stress (PTSD), anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, workplace stress, or major life transitions, I tailor therapy to your unique needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. My approach is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. Depending on your goals, I may integrate cognitive behavioural therapy (cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)), internal family systems (IFS), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)-informed interventions, mindfulness, and other therapeutic approaches that best fit your situation. Together, we'll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, strengthen your resilience, and build practical strategies that support long-term emotional well-being. Seeking therapy is a sign of strength, not weakness. Whether you're looking for relief from emotional pain, hoping to improve your relationships, or simply wanting to better understand yourself, I would be honoured to walk alongside you on that journey. My goal is to help you leave each session feeling heard, supported, and equipped with the confidence and skills to move toward the life you want to live.

My Practice & Services

I provide culturally responsive and trauma-informed counselling for clients from all backgrounds, including refugees, immigrants, and multicultural communities. I also welcome clients seeking support with personal growth, resilience, communication skills, identity, and improving their overall mental well-being. Services are available in English and Arabic through secure virtual therapy across Canada (where permitted by my credentials), making counselling accessible wherever you are.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

As someone who has lived through displacement and witnessed the impact of war, I understand trauma not only as a clinical concept, but as a deeply human experience that affects every part of a person’s life. This perspective allows me to meet clients with a level of empathy, cultural understanding, and presence that supports healing in a safe and respectful way.
