What's My Approach to Therapy?
Hi! I am Milagros, a bilingual pre-licensed mental health counseling intern. I was born in Uruguay and lived in three other countries throughout my life. Those experiences made me gain a deep appreciation for cultural sensitivity and the importance of treating each person or family as an individual. My focus in therapy is to use compassion and collaboration to foster a trusting therapeutic relationship in which clients have the foundation for meaningful growth and healing.
I am passionate about treating children, teens, and families. My clinical approach integrates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and a strengths-based perspective. The hope is that each client and each family as a whole will be able to discover their inner strengths, build resilience, and move toward more emotional stability. My clinical experiences have helped me gain competence in treating autistic people, behavioral and academic difficulties, self-harming, adjustment issues, family conflict, anxiety, and depression. It can be scary to start therapy, and so I offer free 15-minute consultations. Please feel free to contact me for a consultation and ask any questions you may have.
