My Approach to Therapy

Imagine waking up and realizing anxiety is no longer controlling your day. The constant worry has quieted. The emotional pain feels lighter. The memories that once triggered overwhelming fear no longer have the same hold on you. Imagine feeling more confident in your relationships, more connected to yourself, and finally experiencing a sense of peace you’ve been searching for. If you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life’s challenges, you may feel exhausted from carrying the weight of it all on your own. Perhaps you’ve spent years trying to push through the pain, wondering why things haven’t gotten better despite your best efforts. You don’t have to keep facing these struggles alone. I believe healing is possible, and my goal is to help you move from surviving to truly thriving. I provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can openly share your experiences, process difficult emotions, and begin creating the life you want for yourself. As a bilingual therapist fluent in both English and Spanish, I’m passionate about helping people from diverse backgrounds feel understood, supported, and empowered throughout their healing journey. Whether you’re struggling with the effects of childhood trauma, navigating a difficult life transition, coping with loss, managing anxiety, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way. My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely seen and heard. Together, we’ll identify your goals, uncover the underlying factors contributing to your distress, and develop practical tools to help you create meaningful, lasting change. I integrate evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, mindfulness practices, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)-informed interventions, to help you process difficult experiences, strengthen resilience, and build healthier ways of coping. My focus is not only on helping you reduce symptoms, but also on helping you understand yourself more deeply and create lasting emotional wellness. In our work together, you can expect compassion, authenticity, encouragement, and a therapist who truly cares about your growth and healing. No matter how overwhelming things may feel right now, change is possible. You deserve support, healing, and the opportunity to build a life that feels more peaceful, fulfilling, and aligned with who you want to be. I would be honored to be part of that journey with you.

My Practice & Services

At New Birth Family Counseling, we believe healing happens when people feel safe, supported, and genuinely understood. Our practice provides a warm, welcoming environment where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and life experiences without fear of judgment. I offer telehealth therapy services for children, teens, adults, couples, veterans, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Whether you are seeking support for anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, or personal growth, I tailor therapy to meet your unique needs and goals. My approach is collaborative and client-centered. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work alongside you to identify your strengths, understand the challenges you are facing, and develop practical tools that support healing and lasting change. I strive to create a therapeutic relationship built on trust, compassion, authenticity, and respect. As a bilingual therapist, I am proud to offer services in both English and Spanish, helping individuals and families access care in the language they feel most comfortable speaking. I understand that reaching out for help can be difficult, and I am committed to making the process as comfortable and supportive as possible. No matter where you are in your journey, my goal is to help you feel empowered, build resilience, strengthen relationships, and create a more fulfilling life. Healing is possible, and you do not have to navigate life's challenges alone.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

I believe psychotherapy is about more than simply reducing symptoms, it's about helping people understand themselves more deeply, heal from painful experiences, and create meaningful change in their lives. Therapy provides a safe and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and life experiences while developing healthier ways to cope, grow, and thrive. I also believe that true healing often requires a holistic perspective. Our emotional well-being is closely connected to our physical health, relationships, culture, spirituality, environment, and daily habits. When appropriate, I encourage clients to consider the whole person rather than focusing solely on a diagnosis or problem. By addressing the emotional, mental, physical, and relational aspects of wellness, clients are often able to experience deeper and more lasting transformation. My role is not to tell you how to live your life, but to walk alongside you, help you discover your strengths, gain insight into patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and empower you to make choices that align with your values and goals. I believe every person has the capacity for healing, growth, and resilience, and I am honored to support clients as they move toward greater peace, balance, and fulfillment.
