My Approach to Therapy

I specialize in working with high-demand professionals, overwhelmed mothers, men’s emotional health and anger management, former college athletes, and relational wellness. You might be an attorney or executive facing intense burnout, a mother caught in a constant fight-or-flight cycle, a former athlete losing your identity after competitive sports, or a man struggling with anger and communication breakdowns in your relationship. I graduated with a Master of Arts in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling (Portland, Oregon) in 2023. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Idaho. As a graduate student, I interned at Allies in Change in Portland, Oregon, where I facilitated men’s groups and received specialized training in abuse intervention, men’s issues, and anger management. My past experience makes me especially able to connect with and understand people in high-demand careers. I’m also skilled at teaching people how to communicate effectively in a variety of contexts, both personal and professional. My approach is warm, straightforward, collaborative, and practical. I use an integrative approach, which means I pull from multiple therapeutic modalities depending on your needs and what resonates with you. I merge depth-based practices that address unconscious patterns and past experiences with behavioral interventions that address current difficulties, so we can work on both the root of the problem and how you can show up more effectively right now. I help clients recognize and better understand their emotions, increase their ability to tolerate discomfort, communicate effectively with others, feel more in control of themselves and their lives, improve their personal and professional relationships, and feel more connected to themselves. I’ve found that the clients I have the most success with are open to discomfort and self-reflection. They take what we discuss in session and apply it in their lives, and they’re committed to their personal growth.
