What's My Approach to Therapy?

You feel alone, isolated, scared, or hopeless. Do you sometimes think that you are not good enough? Are you struggling with disordered eating, body image concerns, depression, or anxiety? You are not alone, and therapy can provide a safe space for you to feel connected and understood. Therapy can give you the tools to understand these emotions and make positive changes in your life. We will work collaboratively with you in a supportive environment to help you reach your goals.

I am a licensed psychologist specializing in eating issues, body image concerns, anxiety, and depression. My approach helps clients build awareness and tolerance of uncomfortable emotions, develop adaptive coping skills, and move towards their goals.

I know finding the right fit for a therapist can be difficult. I offer a complimentary 15-20 minute phone consultation to get to know each other better and help you determine if we are the right fit.

My Practice & Services

In addition to individual and family therapy, I also provide family support and consultation for families who have a loved one struggling with an eating issue. I have extensive training and experience in assessing and treating eating disorders, having worked in inpatient hospitals, partial hospitalization programs (PHP), and intensive outpatient programs (IOP), specifically focused on these issues. I can provide the knowledge and expertise needed to help you identify the appropriate level of support for your loved one. During our family support session, I will offer tailored recommendations and actionable steps for both your loved one and your family to begin the healing process.

I also provide psychological evaluations for bariatric surgery candidates. Bariatric evaluations aim to assess your strengths, motivations, and readiness for surgery while also understanding any behavioral challenges or emotional factors that may affect your coping skills and adjustment throughout the surgical process. Many hospitals and surgical centers require a psychological evaluation before proceeding with surgery.
