My Approach to Therapy

At New Beginnings Christian Counseling, we are committed to facilitating healing, renewal, and restoration in your relationships, emotional well-being, and spiritual growth. Life can be overwhelming, and many people struggle with negative or intrusive thoughts that impact their emotions, relationships, and sense of purpose. As Christian therapists, we believe lasting change happens when we learn to identify unhelpful thought patterns, replace lies with truth, and align our minds with God’s Word. Using evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), we help clients recognize and challenge distorted thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes so they can improve emotional regulation, strengthen relationships, and experience lasting growth. We serve teens, young adults, adults, couples, and families in both English and Spanish. We offer in-person sessions in Yorba Linda, California, as well as telehealth services throughout California. Our clinicians provide support for anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship challenges, life transitions, and stress management. We also offer specialized services, including eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), couples counseling, parenting support, care for new moms, men’s support for technology and gaming addiction, and counseling for first responders. Our desire is to provide a safe, compassionate space where you can experience healing, discover hope, and move toward the restoration God has for your life.

My Practice & Services

We offer walk-talk therapy at Yorba Regional Park, in-person services at our office in Yorba Linda, and online therapy from the comfort of your home anywhere in California.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

It means you are brave and willing to prioritize your well being and focus on becoming a healthier person in order to have better interpersonal relationships. It means you are willing to be vulnerable because you value your health. And that is something to be proud of. Very few people are willing to seek help but we all can benefit from individual therapy and having an expert to help us challenge our intrusive thoughts, improve our emotions, and change our behavior to become the best version of ourselves. Just like we go to a specialists for our physical health, we often need to see a specialist to improve our mental well being. All of our providers at New Beginnings Christian Counseling have their own individual therapists or have invested in hours of personal psychotherapy.

Groups I Work With

We work with children, teens, young adults, adults, couples, and families seeking faith-integrated counseling. Many of our clients are high-achieving individuals struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, stress, trauma, life transitions, and relationship challenges. We also support parents navigating concerns related to their child’s emotional well-being, young adults facing identity and life-direction questions, men struggling with technology and gaming addiction, new and expecting mothers, first responders, and couples seeking to improve communication, strengthen emotional connection, and deepen intimacy. Our practice is especially well-suited for individuals and families who want counseling that integrates Christian faith with evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment-based interventions, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
