My Approach to Therapy

You may feel anxious, emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or stuck in patterns you understand intellectually but still can’t seem to shift. Maybe you’ve gone through a major life transition, relationship change, grief, burnout, or simply reached a point where continuing to push through no longer feels sustainable. I work with adults navigating anxiety, developmental trauma, attachment wounds, grief, and life transitions. My approach is relational, psychodynamic, and depth-oriented, with attention to how past experiences, relationship patterns, and nervous system responses can continue shaping the present. Therapy with me is thoughtful, collaborative, and paced in a way that allows space for deeper understanding rather than forcing quick change. I integrate talk therapy, EMDR, and nervous system–informed approaches when helpful, while staying grounded in the belief that people often already carry an internal sense of what is true for them — even when it has become difficult to access or trust.

My Practice & Services

I offer both in-person therapy in Raleigh and telehealth sessions across North Carolina. My work is relational, psychodynamic, and depth-oriented, with EMDR and nervous system–informed approaches incorporated when helpful. I aim to create a space where people can slow down, better understand themselves, and move through change without feeling pressured to have everything figured out right away.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

The relationship between therapist and client is one of the strongest predictors of whether therapy feels helpful or meaningful over time. Because of this, I see therapy as a collaborative process built on trust, honesty, curiosity, and emotional safety rather than pressure or performance. Therapy with me tends to move at a thoughtful pace. I want people to feel they can gradually become more emotionally present and more fully themselves without feeling rushed, judged, or pushed before they are ready. Rather than forcing change, we slow things down and pay attention to what may be happening underneath the surface. My hope is that therapy becomes a space where you feel more connected to yourself, more able to trust your own experience, and less alone in whatever you are carrying.

Groups I Work With

I support women who feel the pressure to hold it all together providing a safe space to regulate and explore the truths that might be living underneath the feelings. I also help individuals who are experiencing significant life transitions - those who have just moved to the area, gone through a breakup, retiring or changing careers. I also work with those struggling with grief or loss - offering a secure space to process complexity and intense emotions. I use a holistic approach and incorporate body-based modalities to address stuck-ness when needed.
