My Approach to Therapy

Im Mary, a psychotherapist serving the Central Valley of Northern California. I offer equine-assisted therapy (psychotherapy that includes horses) in Lodi, California, as well as talk, art, and play therapy modalities. A bit about me: I am a trauma-informed therapist with nineteen years of experience providing mental health care. I am also a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and I seek to provide inclusive, individualized support to each person I serve. My specializations include trauma-informed interventions for those living with complex trauma, neglect and abuse, attachment trauma, sexual abuse, domestic violence, persecution and oppression, religious alienation, ritual abuse, combat or relocation trauma, and complex grief. I am also experienced in supporting people who are struggling with eating issues, borderline personality, dissociative identity, mood issues including depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, and questions of identity. Neurodivergent clients are welcome. Please know that respect and self-determination are central to all my clients well-being, and certainly for neurodivergent populations as well. My experience in this area includes over a decade of supporting many people with attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), autism spectrum, and traumatic brain injuries in a wide variety of environments.
