What's My Approach to Therapy?
Hi, I’m Mary Beth, the founder of Your Journey Through. For nearly 10 years, I’ve worked as a licensed counselor helping children, teens, adults, and families navigate life’s challenges with clarity and confidence. I also serve as a business coach for therapists, host a podcast, and embrace my identity as an Enneagram 3 — but at my core, I’m a wife, a mom, and someone who genuinely cares about helping people thrive.
After earning my degree from Columbia University, I began my career supporting clients through life’s toughest seasons, whether it’s untangling complicated family dynamics, addressing enmeshment and boundary struggles, managing anxiety, navigating major life transitions, or processing trauma. In 2016, I founded Your Journey Through with a vision: to create a modern, relatable therapy experience that empowers people to live a life they love.
What started as a dream has grown into a thriving practice that’s made a meaningful impact in the Raleigh, NC, community. I’m passionate about destigmatizing mental health and providing inclusive support for clients of all ages, races, genders, sexualities, and religions. My approach is compassionate, down-to-earth, and practical, helping clients feel understood while equipping them with tools for real change.
In addition to counseling, I love mentoring other therapists who want to build thriving, authentic private practices and connect with their ideal clients.
If you’re ready to take the next step toward healing, growth, and living more fully, I’d be honored to walk alongside you on your journey.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed
Mary Beth's philosophy is that everyone can benefit from therapy. She believes that therapy is a workout for the mind, and it is just as important to exercise the mind as it is the body. Mary Beth offers a safe, nonjudgmental, and strengths-based approach to help clients reach their full potential, regardless of starting point.
