What's My Approach to Therapy?
Do you find yourself startling awake at night, haunted by memories you can't shake? Maybe you're exhausted from carrying the weight of past trauma, feeling stuck in patterns of fear or anger that affect your relationships. If racial discrimination or gender-based harassment has left invisible wounds that others don't understand, you're not alone – and there is hope for healing.
As a trauma therapist with 19 years of experience, I provide a secure sanctuary where adults can break free from trauma's grip. Using evidence-based approaches like EMDR therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS), combined with a feminist, anti-racist lens, I help clients calm their nervous system, process painful memories, and rebuild a sense of safety. I understand that trauma doesn't happen in a vacuum, and I specialize in addressing the unique impacts of racial and gender-based trauma.
What makes my approach unique is the genuine connection I build with each client. At Mosaic Bloom Counseling, you'll find a space where you feel truly safe, seen, and affirmed. Together, we'll move at your pace, transforming fragmented experiences into a meaningful whole that honors your strength and resilience.
My Practice & Services
Mosaic Bloom Counseling offers both virtual and in-office therapy sessions, providing flexibility to meet your needs. I am licensed to serve clients across multiple regions: in-person and virtual sessions in Pennsylvania, and virtual sessions for residents of Delaware, New Jersey, and Idaho. This multi-state licensure allows me to provide accessible, high-quality mental health care that transcends geographical boundaries.
I specialize in individual therapy for adults, with expertise in trauma-focused approaches including EMDR, CBT, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). As a certified EMDR therapist through EMDRIA and Level 1 IFS-trained practitioner, I offer these powerful therapeutic tools to help process and heal from traumatic experiences. Sessions are 50 minutes in length, providing focused time for your healing journey.
In addition to individual therapy, I serve as a clinical supervisor for social workers working toward their clinical licensure in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. This supervisory role reflects my commitment to nurturing the next generation of trauma-informed, culturally competent mental health professionals.
My practice operates through a feminist, anti-racist lens that celebrates the diversity of human experience. Whether you're seeking support for processing childhood trauma, navigating racial or gender-based trauma, or working through other challenging life experiences, I am here to provide skilled, compassionate care in a space where your identity is not just accepted, but celebrated.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I specialize in helping adults heal from racial trauma, sexual trauma and gender-related stress, childhood trauma, and medical trauma. I also support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, and trauma-related relationship difficulties.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
Therapy can help you develop a deeper, more compassionate relationship with yourself. Often trauma causes us to disconnect from or reject parts of who we are - maybe the part that feels angry, the part that's scared, or the part that carries shame. We'll help you get to know these different parts of yourself and understand what they're trying to protect.
Instead of fighting against difficult emotions or trying to push them away, you'll learn to listen to what each part needs and bring them into harmony. This isn't about eliminating parts of you, but about creating internal space where all aspects of who you are can coexist peacefully.
Many clients discover that the parts they've been trying to silence actually hold important wisdom and strength. When trauma fragments us, therapy helps weave those pieces back together - not by erasing what happened, but by helping you become a compassionate leader to all parts of yourself.
The result is feeling more integrated, authentic, and at peace with the fullness of who you are.
Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance
As a feminist therapist, I believe that the your relationship with me is the most important factor in the overall success of therapy. My hope is that through time, we can build a trusting connection where you have a sense of safety, as well as feel my respect for you. I also trust that you will know in your gut what makes for the most supportive therapeutic relationship for you, and I hope that you trust that instinct.
I believe therapy works best as a true partnership where I take an active, engaged role in our work together. The therapeutic relationship is foundational to healing, so I bring my whole, authentic self into our sessions and invite you to do the same. I'm transparent about how my identity as a Black, able-bodied, straight, cisgender woman shapes my worldview and therapeutic approach, because I believe genuine connection happens when we acknowledge how our lived experiences inform our work together.
