What's My Approach to Therapy?
I have specialized in working with couples for over 30 years. I try to actively identify personal and relational strengths, such as trust, affection, commitment, respect, flexibility and repair, among others, in order to utilize and promote them to help couples reach their goals in treatment. I begin couples work with a focused couples evaluation designed to determine whether treatment is indicated and to quickly identify key problems, strengths and promising directions for treatment. I am a participating provide with Blue Cross Blue Shield, the Pioneer Health Network and Medicare and accept other insurances that offer their clients out-of-network coverage.

My Practice & Services
I also see adult individuals and sometimes conduct EMDR with individuals or in the context of couples therapy. I provide treatment with a recently-developed modification of EMDR for behavioral addictions, including: sexual addictions; gambling; compulsive shopping, eating and internet use, including internet pornography; playing computer games; and repetitive re-engagement in unsatisfying or harmful relationships. I am qualified to help couples with the range of issues that typically lead them to seek treatment, including repetitive conflict, loss of love, extramarital affairs and damaged trust, sexual difficulties, lack of passion and difficulty defining the relartionship, based on my 30+ years of experience as a practicing couples and sex therapist. I have published three books on couples and family therapy, trained other therapists at over 90 professional workshops and been interviewed in national magazines and newspapers.
