What's My Approach to Therapy?

I have dedicated three decades of my life to providing counseling services. My therapeutic approach is existential phenomenological, with a strong emphasis on Jungian psychology. I was introduced to existential phenomenology while attending the University of Dallas, where I completed my undergraduate degree in psychology. I obtained my master's in psychology at the University of West Georgia. Then, after several years, I returned to school to obtain a doctorate in clinical psychology. Additional studies include play therapy, art therapy, sand play, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), family studies, psychophysiology, and neuropsychology. My eclectic tools range from expressive art therapies to cognitive behavioral techniques. In addition, I have been blessed with training and work opportunities that have sharpened my clinical skills. My experience includes being a therapist for outpatient clinics, private practice, and hospital settings (inpatient, day hospitalpartial hospital, intensive outpatient, and mobile assessment team). My clients' ages range from 3 to older adults. My specialties are trauma, anxiety, depression, parenting issues, relationship issues, school issues, and attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD). My overall goal is to instill hope and health in individuals and families. The community eventually benefits by instilling hope and health in individuals and families. As a result, our societies have become healthier and better places for all of us. I want to further my education by completing a master’s in art therapy and a doctoral degree in clinical psychology.
