My Approach to Therapy
My name is Lucy, and I’m a Gestalt therapist and Level 1 internal family systems (IFS) therapist practicing in New York and Washington. My practice is open to individuals, couples, and non-monogamous and poly relationships. I’m an LGBTQIA+ affirming, trauma-informed, and experientially oriented therapist, and I support clients of all genders, sexualities, bodies, and racial and cultural identities. I specialize in supporting clients who want to address attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD) and its impacts on daily living and relationships, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, emotional and nervous system dysregulation, trauma, religious trauma, grief and loss, attachment wounds, life and relational transitions, and gender-affirming care and sexuality exploration. I utilize a non-pathologizing model, treating your lived experience with compassion and an understanding of systemic impacts in order to build internal ease. I’m currently 100% virtual and use telehealth to support our work together.
I’m a firm believer that we all deserve a place to feel loved, supported, acknowledged, fought for, , above all, celebrated. We have an incredible and powerful ability to learn, heal, grow, and thrive when given a chance, or when we give ourselves permission to acknowledge our own fears, patterns, and shame, and then take a leap to move through them toward healing. My approach recognizes internal challenges as well as the world’s impact on you, and I meet you where you’re at with compassion, acceptance, care, mindfulness, and a bit of humor. We are products of our environment, our families, and our ancestral history, and within the therapeutic space, we can support the past, recognize its effect in the present, , with awareness, support changes for the future.
