What's My Approach to Therapy?

At Core Psychology Calgary, we believe that meaningful change begins with feeling seen, heard, and understood. Our approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and respect for each person’s lived experience. We draw from evidence-based practices while tailoring therapy to meet your individual needs, strengths, and goals.

Rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions, we take the time to understand your story, helping you make sense of your experiences, strengthen your resilience, and move toward the life you want to lead. Whether you're navigating stress, anxiety, relationships, parenting, or personal growth, we’re here to support you with care and clarity every step of the way.

My Practice & Services

Core Psychology is a Calgary-based group practice offering in-person sessions in Marda Loop and virtual therapy throughout Alberta and across Canada for select services. We provide support for individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, burnout, parenting challenges, relationship concerns, neurodivergence, and personal growth.

We believe that therapy should feel personalized and grounded in trust. Our team thoughtfully matches each client with the clinician who is the best fit for their needs, preferences, and goals. When appropriate, we offer wraparound care, supporting clients and their families both individually and collectively to foster meaningful, lasting change.

Our team includes Registered Psychologists, Certified Canadian Counsellors, and supervised clinicians in the final stages of training, allowing us to offer a range of expertise and fee options to improve access to quality care. In addition to individual and couples therapy, we also offer consultation, parenting support, and occasional workshops and groups to meet the evolving needs of our community.

At Core, we’re committed to creating a space where people feel supported, respected, and empowered to heal and grow.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

What Matters Most When Choosing a Therapist

Finding the right therapist is more than checking credentials ? it's about finding someone who truly gets you, and can help you move forward with clarity and care. At Core Psychology, we understand how personal this choice is, and we're here to help you make a decision that feels right for you.

Here?s what we believe matters most:

A Strong Fit
You deserve to feel safe, supported, and understood. That?s why we take the time to match you with a therapist on our team who?s the right fit for your goals and personality.

Specialized Expertise
Our team offers support for a wide range of concerns ? including anxiety, burnout, parenting, relationships, neurodivergence, trauma, and more ? so you can feel confident you're working with someone who truly understands your experience.

A Personalized Approach
Therapy isn?t one-size-fits-all. Whether you need practical tools, space to process, or support for your family as a whole, we tailor our approach to what works best for you.

Registered and Supervised Professionals
All of our clinicians are either fully registered or in the final stages of training under professional supervision, ensuring you receive high-quality, ethical care at a range of fee options.

Flexible Access
We offer in-person sessions in Marda Loop (Calgary) and virtual therapy throughout Alberta ? and across Canada for select services.

When you reach out, we?ll guide you through the next steps and help connect you with a therapist who feels like the right fit. Your path forward doesn?t have to be walked alone ? we?re here to support you.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

How Long Does Therapy Take?

The length of therapy can vary depending on your goals, concerns, and preferences. Some clients come for short-term support during a difficult time or transition, while others choose to engage in longer-term work to explore deeper patterns, strengthen relationships, or support ongoing growth.

At Core Psychology, we don?t believe in a one-size-fits-all timeline. Instead, we work with you to clarify what you?re hoping to get out of therapy and check in regularly to ensure the work feels meaningful and aligned with your goals.

Some clients begin to notice shifts within just a few sessions, while others benefit from ongoing support over several months or more. Whether you're looking for brief, focused help or a space to grow over time, we're here to walk alongside you at a pace that feels right.
