My Approach to Therapy

Hi, I'm Lisa Stoll, a licensed marriage and family therapist and the founder of Grow Today Therapy in Reno, NV. I help adults who long for closeness but keep finding themselves stuck in the same painful relationship patterns — overthinking, people-pleasing, or feeling too much one moment and not enough the next. I specialize in attachment therapy, helping clients understand how early relationships shaped the way they connect (or protect themselves) today. Using eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and emotionally focused therapy, I help clients heal at the root, not just manage symptoms, so they can build the secure, trusting relationships they've always wanted. I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxious or avoidant attachment, relationship anxiety, childhood emotional neglect, dissociation, and repeating conflict cycles. I offer sessions in person in Reno and virtually throughout Nevada and California. If you're ready to stop surviving your relationships and start feeling secure in them, I'd love to talk. Schedule a free 20-minute consultation to see if we're the right fit.

My Practice & Services

I currently practice as a solo provider, offering individual, couples, and family therapy both in-person in Reno and virtually throughout Nevada and California. In addition to weekly therapy, I offer EMDR Intensives — extended sessions for clients wanting a more focused, accelerated path to healing. I also provide clinical supervision and EMDR consultation for pre-licensed and licensed therapists in Nevada.

What to Expect Working With Me

Working together feels less like a clinical process and more like a genuine, collaborative relationship. I'll never hand you generic advice or a one-size-fits-all worksheet — instead, we'll go at your pace, dig into what's really underneath the patterns you're stuck in, and build something that actually fits your life. You can expect honesty, warmth, and a space where you don't have to perform or have it all figured out. My goal isn't just to help you feel better temporarily, it's to help you build the kind of security that lasts.

My Therapy Focus

Attachment therapy isn't just what I do — it's personal. I've experienced what it's like to feel "too much" and "not enough" in relationships, to long for closeness while quietly bracing for it to disappear. That's part of why this work matters so deeply to me. Over the years, I've watched clients realize that the patterns they thought were just "who they are" were actually learned — and that they can be unlearned. There's something profound about watching someone go from constantly overthinking a relationship to finally trusting it, or from feeling emotionally shut down to being able to let someone in. That transformation is why I've made attachment work my life's focus. I believe healing isn't about becoming a different person — it's about finally feeling safe enough to be yourself, in your relationships and in your own skin. That belief shapes everything about how I show up with my clients.
