I support families, couples, and individuals. Whatever the problem, challenge, trauma or pain, the power to change exists within you and your family. I believe an effective therapist's job is to support a "shift," not to create it for you. Together, we can make progress toward your goals and desires.

If your relationship needs rehabilitation I can provide a safe and balanced environment to communicate more effectively with ideas and tools for new solutions. I help families to support better communication techniques to better navigate challenges, phases, and life cycle transitions.

I also offer counseling for "Sober Parenting" and families" in recovery" from alcohol and/or substance abuse.

More Info About My Practice

I provide co-therapy (using two both a male, and female therapists in session. My colleague Gregg Brock LMFT and I work together in the room, providing a more unique, proactive, and empowering experience, using solution-focused therapy.

I have created and developed a chronic pain surgery support program using a manual/workbook for patients (and their families) to create a more positive recovery experience and outcome. I have personally had many spine surgeries and procedures which have motivated me to support others.

My Role as a Therapist

I am not the expert on you, you are the expert on you! I view myself as more of a team member, facilitator, and guide. I don't give advice, but will give suggestions to support your "shift."

When working with couples and families it is imperative to maintain a balance and create a safe space. In some ways I feel like an interpreter for each client, providing better communication and understanding. It is impossible to really hear someone (that we care for and love) when we listen in defense, expectation, and judgment. I use interventions and exercises (which clients can use out of session) that support clarity and understanding.

My Therapy Focus

After years of studying and practicing various modalities of psychology (while participating in my own personal therapy,) I've found that staying in "the solution" and not focusing on the problems can shift us closer to our preferred stories allowing us to live more comfortable, empowering, and happy lives.

As a therapist, I practice respect and flexibility allowing for the client to have a new experience of themselves.
While it is valuable to talk about our pasts, our families, caretakers, and relationships, I've found it most beneficial to identify what we want different, and how we plan to get there. With fewer focus fears and "problem stories" we can shift our experience to possibility, solution and a more empowering storyline.
