My Approach to Helping

My Role as a Therapist
My role as a therapist is to offer guidance, support, new perspectives, helpful skills, and psychoeducation as you move through this journey to healing. I believe in the importance of collaboration and focus on working with my clients towards reaching the goals they want to achieve in therapy.
Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed
It takes a great deal of courage and maturity to recognize when we need help- and we all could use help from time to time! We all have different strengths and limitations. Being able to acknowledge a problem and take the steps to address it is a sign of great strength. You are not weak or flawed - you are facing a challenge and some challenges are much easier to overcome when you have professional support and guidance to help you through!
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
The frequency and duration of therapy is individualized. There is no specific time-frame for our work together. This is not a "one-size-fits-all" type of thing. My goal is to help you meet your goals for therapy as soon as possible while making sure the changes are sustainable. Some clients may require only a few sessions to meet their goals, while others may choose to continue working with me for months or years. Our timeframe will be individualized depending upon your needs and progress. I do not believe in "keeping" someone in therapy for longer than they need. I will work with you for as long as it is therapeutically beneficial for you and we will work towards meeting your goals at your pace.
